Saint Jago High School Cadet Unit
Putting meaning to excellence!
With Star exams upcoming a weekend training session was arranged. Special thanks to past CSM, S/Sgt Higgins and Cpl Mulgrave on coming out to ensure the cadets were well prepared for the upcoming Star examinations.
The streets of Spanish Town were painted green and gold as the students marched to the various, previous locations of St Jago High School. Of course, the cadets were present to provide assistance in the form of escorts and crowd control.
Scenes from the days processions
Commemorating 275 years of excellence; the festivities were launched with a church service at St Jago De La Vega Cathedral. Our cadets were present as escorts for key persons, serving as ushers and providing an overall St Jago Atmosphere.
With this week being dubbed “Earthquake Awareness Week” it was only fitting for an earthquake drill to be held. In keeping with our values, the cadets were present to aid in the general crowd control of the members of staff involved in the drill. It was a success due to the civilians’ corporation and the cadets moving with maximum efficiency.
In case of an earthquake remember, STOP, DROP, AND HOLD!
Our cadets participate in the annual heritage day celebration.
One of the activities for the first form week of orientation was the Cadet Disciplinary Drill. Our Grade 7 students stood at attention while learning basic posture and proper standing techniques. They were also introduced to the basics in drill; standing at ease, standing easy and the attention position. The day was a success with cadets such as Cpl. Bailey D. Cpl. Malabre A. Cpl. Mulgrave R. L/Cpl Gray J. Pte. Clarke A. Pte. Johnson D. Pte. Martin K. and Pte. Tucker N. instructing under the command of Lieutenant Shane Edwards.
